Welcome to the Village

If you would have asked me seven weeks ago whether I was eager to make it to my 5th year, I would have told you absolutely not! I mean I was tossed around from lesson to lesson with rigor. I mean it had me questioning my purpose. Education and I have a love-hate relationship with each other. It is a conundrum to believe in the fundamental concept of education but understand the reality of inequities that lead to inequities of students that share a similar hue.

With this break, I have become reborn to my mission to be the teacher I needed in school. To teach, many educational stakeholders how to successfully recruit and retain Black educators in all public school districts throughout the state of Georgia. To create a space for Black students to soar while believing they are truly capable and worthy of reaching their dreams. GAEEJ’s goals consist teaching educational entities how to create safe inclusive resourced educational environments for Black educators to AUTHENTICALLY teach liberation and belonging through their respective content areas.

To my melanated educators, I see you! I know you go hard for your students to make up for the harsh realities of the effects of years of the inequitable public educational system. Remember, you don’t have to fight this fight alone, join us as we champion for the liberation and belonging of Black educators and students.
