Our ProgramS

GAEEJ strives to increase the self-efficacy of Black K-12 educators by creating health and wellness programs, as well as providing resources to the community. Each program provides both educators and students with an opportunity to amplify the voice and needs of the community, provide emotional support and solidarity, and ultimately bridge the achievement gap by championing racial and educational equity as a basic civil right.

Community Driven Programs

  • Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice (GAEEJ) Education Cafe Program in partnership with the Intercultural Development and Research Association (IDRA).

    Education Cafe

    Education Cafe is a model created by Intercultural Development and Research Association (IDRA) to create school-family-community collaboration. GAEEJ teamed up with IDRA to create a series of monthly seminars around the impact of Anti-Critical Race Theory legislation would have on equity-centric educators with an emphasis on Black educators throughout the Greater Atlanta area.

  • Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice (GAEEJ) Melanated N'Educated Program

    Melanated N’ Educated

    Melanated N’ Educated Series is a collective of millennial Black educators establishing liberation and belonging in their respective paths. This collective will engage in the storytelling of their unique and shared experiences in order to build communal support from other Black educators throughout the State of Georgia.

  • Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice (GAEEJ) Let's Praise Our Teachers Program

    Let’s Praise Our Teachers

    A program dedicated to Black excellence in education. This program will allow members and allies of GAEEJ to nominate themselves or another Black educator trailblazer for recognition and resources around their individualized goals and aspirations in order to continue their efforts.

  • Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice (GAEEJ) Breaking The Stereotype Program

    Breaking the Stereotype

    Breaking the Stereotype is a program created to expose Black students to a plethora of experiences in order to give them access to different and viable avenues within the career sector. Selected students will receive mentorship and funding for their individualized goals and aspirations including but not limited to incubator business ideas, college, and travel/ spiritual and cultural experiences.

  • Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice (GAEEJ) Raise Black Voice Townhalls Program

    Raise Black Voice Townhalls

    This program, bolstered by our esteemed partnerships, offers a compelling platform for Black educational stakeholders. Through these town halls, we create a safe and empowering space for dialogue, striving to elevate the state of Black education in Georgia. Our aim is to foster authentic advocacy and influence policy changes for a more inclusive and equitable educational system.

  • Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice (GAEEJ) A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste Program

    A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste

    Georgia Educators for Equity and Justice Inc. will host recurring sessions surrounding mental health for Black educators and/or Black students within the Greater Metro Atlanta area. Black educators and students will learn a variety of techniques that will allow them to exist in a state of joy while experiencing liberation and belonging in their lives.
